Martha Finley
Martha Finley was an American teacher and prolific author best known for her sentimental, religiously themed children's book series 'Elsie Dinsmore,' which spanned 28 volumes over 38 years. She wrote many of her works under the pseudonym Martha Farquharson and was the daughter of a Presbyterian minister, James Brown Finley. Her literature often focused on pious young protagonists rewarded for their virtue.
