Martha Finley (1828-1909) who sometimes wrote under the pseudonym Martha Farquharson was an American author. Her Presbyterian upbringing was the source of inspiration for her work. She worked as a teacher and while she was teaching she was also developing her writing skills and her first successes were for a newspaper and Sunday School Stories in a Presbyterian publication.
