John S. Lewis

John S. Lewis is a Professor Emeritus of planetary science at the University of Arizona's Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, specializing in the chemistry and formation of the Solar System. An expert on asteroids and comets, he has authored numerous popular science books including Mining the Sky and Rain of Iron and Ice, and has been a leading proponent of developing near-Earth objects as space resources. He served as Chief Scientist at Deep Space Industries and has contributed significantly to research on space resource development and planetary science.
