Ashley Dawson

Ashley Dawson is a Distinguished Professor of Postcolonial Studies in the English Department at the Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY), and the College of Staten Island, specializing in environmental humanities and postcolonial ecocriticism. He is an author, activist, and founder of the CUNY Climate Action Lab, advocating for climate justice, fossil fuel abolition, and democratic energy transitions through works like People's Power, Extreme Cities, and Environmentalism from Below. A member of the Social Text Collective and Public Power NY campaign, he has edited numerous volumes and published extensively on global people's movements and decolonizing conservation.
