Alan Paton

Alan Paton was a South African author and anti-apartheid activist, best known for his novel 'Cry, the Beloved Country' (1948), which brought international attention to racial injustice in South Africa. He founded the Liberal Party of South Africa and wrote several other works, including biographies and essays on social issues.
