Firestarter: A Dragonborn Novel

There was once a small village to the south of the kingdom of Blackfall. The village wasn't home to many, and the villagers were simple folk trying to live a life of peace and tranquillity. They never fought and did not need to leave their land. But one night, everything changed. A group of travellers came to the village. They pitched their tents and their chanting was able to be heard from within.Once the chanting stopped, all that remained was flames. The flames eat everything in sight. The village elder saw the flames and remembered a time when a strong dragon protected their land. But the dragon was slain long ago. The village elder watched as a woman in a robe fled with a young boy in her arms, to never be seen again.Waking up in her arms, Kev remembered the flames. The warmth was new to him. He felt nothing before her. For a while, he stayed with the woman. The two of them travelled together. Until the day came when the woman left the boy. She left him with a trusted friend. Even though the boy had no memories of his past, he never forgot the woman and what she did for him.And he hopes that someday, he'll be able to see her again.
