This is a story about Virginia who not only is courted by men in the USA but is courted by Tom, an Englishman she meets while traveling abroad. The book begins with Virginia in the States, and while longing for something in her life she sets out with two girlfriends on a freighter to England for a vacation. Her adventure awakens the readers to the secrets of life and love back in the 1930's, not only in the States but in Europe as well. Not only does The Memoirs of Virginia Lord draw the reader into the enticing world of love in the 1930's, but it also enlightens them to the political climate of impending World War II and how it affects everyone's lives. Marianne got her Bachelor's degree in Education from Queens College and her Master's in Reading from Adelphi University. She is a published and award winning author and artist. She received the President Club award from the International Reading Association. Her teaching career led her to a writing career under her previous name, Marianne Pilgrim Calabrese.
