The new Bookworms: The Shape of the World series introduces circles, ovals, triangles, and, here, rectangles in unadorned photographs and just a few words. The words "Rectangles are for work" are accompanied by a picture of a girl with a rectangular notebook; "Rectangles are for play" shows a boy on a rectangular jungle gym. The photos are reproduced again at the end with the rectangle shapes outlined in black dotted lines. The presentation is somewhat confusing, as the rectangle doesn't always conform to the shape of the object. Overall, however, the colors, clarity, small size, and minimal text still make a nice package. GraceAnne DeCandidoCopyright © American Library Association. All rights reserved
