Well let me just say Dr. Phil has done it again. This is an amazing book that comes from the heart. Dr. Phil uses the story of his own life experiences growing up in this book. He shares personal and I'm sure quite hurtful memories from his own childhood. Whether you have yet to start your family, have just started a family, or if you have been a family for a long time this book has something for you to grow as a person and as a parent. I know I personally got this book to help me change my ways as a parent because my ways weren't working and it wasn't fair to my family. This book has made such a huge difference in how I am raising my family, and of course kids don't like change but once they realized I wasn't going to revert back to my old ways they finally came around and our home is finally a peaceful home, and we only have the help of Dr. Phil and some work on our part to thank. I highly recommend this book to anybody who is living in a home where peace and quiet never seem to exist, where teenagers think they run the show, where discipline is lacking and so is structure. This book will change your life if your willing to put in the work needed to change. It won't help if you don't work at changing your ways. But when you are ready than this is the book you will need. You won't regret it and your family and friends will thank you, because whether you know it or not everyone around you can see the disfunction in your family. Trust me it wasn't until after applying everything we learned and the kids started going along with the new program. I had people say wow, now I actually won't mind having you all over, then would tell me how the old us really came across to everyone.
