Winesburg, Ohio

Winesburg, Ohio portrays the peculiar, secret lives of a tiny town's residents. Wing Biddlebaum seeks to conceal the story of his expulsion from a Pennsylvania town in "Hands," which is symbolised by his hands. In "Adventure," lonesome Alice Hindman makes an impetuous nude trek into the storm at night. The narratives are woven together from the perspective of George Willard, a young newspaper reporter who, like his creator, observes the gloomy and despondent activities of a small group of lonely people.
