Zahra Newby

Zahra Newby is a British Professor of Classics and Ancient History at the University of Warwick, specializing in Greek mythology in Roman art, visual culture of the Roman Empire, and Greek athletics.[1][2] She earned her degrees from the University of Oxford and the Courtauld Institute of Art, with her doctoral advisor Jaś Elsner, and became Head of the Department in 2018.[1] Her notable works include 'Greek Myths in Roman Art and Culture' and she leads the Leverhulme Trust project on the Materiality of Graeco-Roman Festivals.[1][6]
