Yevgeny Zamyatin
Yevgeny Zamyatin was a Russian novelist, satirist, and naval engineer born in 1884, renowned as one of the first Soviet dissidents and a formulator of the dystopian genre. His most famous work, the 1921 novel 'We,' critiqued totalitarianism and inspired later classics like Orwell's 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' and Huxley's 'Brave New World.' Zamyatin fled the Soviet Union in 1931 and died in Paris in 1937.
