Xiran Jay Zhao is a Chinese-Canadian author and YouTuber known for their debut novel 'Iron Widow,' which became a #1 New York Times Best Seller and won the 2021 British Science Fiction Association Award. They create content about Chinese history and culture while writing speculative fiction, including the 'Iron Widow' series and 'Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor.' Zhao is a non-binary individual who uses they/them pronouns and graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in biochemical disease research.
