Robert Norman Munsch is a Canadian children's author born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on June 11, 1945, who moved to Canada in 1975 to work at the University of Guelph after studying to become a priest and earning degrees from Fordham and Boston University. He developed his unique storytelling style by interactively creating exaggerated tales with children at daycares and preschools, leading to his first book Mud Puddle in 1979 and his bestseller Love You Forever in 1986. Munsch has published over 55 books, received the Order of Canada in 1999, and as of recent reports lives with dementia and Parkinson's while planning posthumous releases.[1][2][7][8]
