Workman Publishing

Workman Publishing is a publishing company founded in 1968 by Peter Workman in New York City, starting with book packaging before publishing its first title, *The Yoga 28-Day Exercise Program*. It grew into the largest independently owned trade book publisher in the United States, known for lifestyle, humor, cookbooks, parenting guides, gardening, children's books, and calendars. Now part of Hachette Book Group, it includes imprints like Algonquin Books, Artisan, Storey Publishing, and Timber Press; Peter Workman died in 2013, with his wife Carolan leading the company thereafter.[1][2][3]
