William Wondriska
William Wondriska (1931-2016) was an American illustrator, graphic designer, and children's book author known for his mid-20th-century work in promotional design, advertising, and eleven acclaimed children's books including A Long Piece of String (1963) and The Sound of Things (1958).[1][2] He studied at Yale University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, taught at several US universities, and founded Wondriska Associates in 1961, serving clients like the Walt Disney Company and the Boston Symphony.[2][4] Born in Oak Park, Illinois, he lived in Concord, Massachusetts, until his death from Parkinson's disease complications.[1]
