William R. Smythe

William Ralph Smythe (1893–1988) was a prominent physicist at the California Institute of Technology, known for his research on magnetic waves and for developing a method to separate isotopes electromagnetically. He authored the widely-used reference book 'Static and Dynamic Electricity' and taught classes in electricity and magnetism for many years.
