William L. Harper

William Harper (1790–1847) was an American jurist and politician born on the island of Antigua, West Indies. He studied at South Carolina College, read medicine and law in Charleston, was admitted to the bar in 1813, and later held major judicial and legislative offices in South Carolina, Missouri, and the U.S. Senate.
