William Jennings Bryan

William Jennings Bryan (1860–1925) was an American Democratic and Populist leader, gifted orator, and three-time unsuccessful nominee for the U.S. presidency (1896, 1900, 1908). Known as the 'Great Commoner,' he served as Secretary of State under Woodrow Wilson (1913–1915) and later acted as a prosecuting attorney in the 1925 Scopes Trial opposing evolution education[3][4][7].
