William J. Astore

William J. Astore is a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel who served for 20 years before retiring in 2005, after which he became a professor of history, teaching at institutions including the Air Force Academy, Naval Postgraduate School, and Pennsylvania College of Technology.[1][2][6] He holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, an MA from Johns Hopkins University, and a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford, and has authored books such as *Hindenburg: Icon of German Militarism* (2001) and contributed extensively to outlets like TomDispatch, The Nation, and Truthout on military history, science, technology, and related topics.[1][2][4] Astore is a senior fellow at the Eisenhower Media Network, recognized for his critical perspectives on military and national security issues.[1][4][5]
