William Henry Hudson

William Henry Hudson (1841–1922) was an Argentine-born British author, naturalist, and ornithologist best known for his exotic romance novel Green Mansions and his nature writings about the Argentine pampas and English countryside. He spent his youth observing flora and fauna in Argentina before moving to England in 1874, where he became a founding member of the Royal Society for the Protection Birds and a prominent voice in the back-to-nature movement.
