William Durbin
William Durbin is a Minneapolis-born author and former teacher known for his historical fiction novels for young readers, often set in Minnesota's Boundary Waters and inspired by fur traders, immigrants, and Finnish-American culture. A winner of the Great Lakes Book Award and multiple Minnesota Book Awards, he has published works such as The Broken Blade, Wintering, The Journal of Otto Peltonen, and The Hidden Room, co-authored with his wife Barbara. He lives on Lake Vermilion in northeastern Minnesota.[1][2][4][5][7][8]
