William Cranston Lawton
William Cranston Lawton (1853-1941) was an American author, educator, and classical philologist who graduated from Harvard in 1873 and served as professor of Greek language and literature at Adelphi College in Brooklyn from 1895 to 1907. He was the classical editor and leading contributor to Warner's Library of the World's Best Literature, and wrote influential histories of Greek and Latin literature.
