William Brown
William Brown (1765–1793) was an American novelist and poet, best known for writing 'The Power of Sympathy,' which is widely considered the first American novel. He also authored 'Harriot, or the Domestic Reconciliation' and contributed to the serial essay 'The Reformer' published in Massachusetts Magazine.
