William Bayer

William Bayer is an American novelist known for his crime fiction, having authored twenty-one books including the New York Times best-sellers Switch and Pattern Crimes. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he began his writing career after serving as a foreign service officer and documentary filmmaker, publishing his first crime novel Tangier in 1978 under his own name and occasionally as David Hunt.
