William A. Baker

William A. Baker was a distinguished naval architect, maritime historian, and author who specialized in replica historic ships and served as Curator of the Francis Russell Hart Nautical Museum at MIT from 1963 to 1981. He authored eleven books and numerous articles on naval architecture and maritime history, and was a Lecturer in MIT's Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
