William a Alcott

William A. Alcott (1798–1859) was an American educator, physician, and prolific writer known for his advocacy of vegetarianism, health reform, and moral education. He authored over 100 books on topics including physical education, diet, and family life, and co-founded the American Physiological Society and the American Vegetarian Society.
