Wilfrid Mellers

Wilfrid Mellers (1914–2008) was an English music critic, musicologist, composer, and educator known for writing extensively on music and its relation to society. He studied at Cambridge, became a professor of music at the University of York, and published influential works including "Music and Society: England and the European Tradition."
