Wilbur Wright

Wilbur Wright (1867–1912) was an American inventor, aviation pioneer, and engineer who, alongside his brother Orville Wright, designed and built the world's first successful powered airplane. Together, they achieved the first controlled, sustained flight of a motor-driven aircraft on December 17, 1903, near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, earning them the title 'fathers of modern aviation.'
