Wendy Watson
Wendy Watson (1942-2018) was a third-generation author and illustrator of children's books, born in Paterson, New Jersey, to writer Nancy Dingman Watson and illustrator Aldren Auld Watson. She authored and illustrated twenty-one books for young readers under ten and illustrated over sixty books for other authors, often collaborating with family members like her sister Clyde Watson. Watson studied at Bryn Mawr College, lived in places including Southern Vermont, Phoenix, Arizona, and Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and began her career as a freelance illustrator in 1966.
