Wendy Guerra

Wendy Guerra, born in Havana, Cuba in 1970, is a prominent Cuban author known for her novels drawing from personal diaries and poetry, such as Todos se van which won the Bruguera Prize in 2006 and has been translated into 23 languages. She published her first poetry collection at age 17, studied filmmaking under Gabriel García Márquez, and has faced suspicion from Cuban authorities for her success abroad, leading her to reside in south Florida. A Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, she has taught at Princeton and UCLA, contributed to international media, and recently published La costurera de Chanel.
