Wansbrough

John Edward Wansbrough (1928–2002) was an American-born scholar of Islamic studies and Quranic studies who taught at the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). He is best known for founding the revisionist school of Islamic studies through his influential, controversial critiques of the traditional historical account of early Islam and the Quran.[2][4]
