Walter Laplante

Walter LaPlante is an experienced system engineer in the automotive industry, renowned for leading the development of the Mobile AI Vision System (MAIVS), a smartphone-based technology using AI and cameras to detect manufacturing defects in real time on assembly lines. He received the prestigious Henry Ford Technology Award in recognition of this innovation, following in the footsteps of his father Lou LaPlante, who won the same award in 2003 for the 3D Robotic Guided Vision system. LaPlante has also authored the book 'Tecumseh,' exploring the historical role of the Native American leader in early US history.
