Walt Kelly
Walter Crawford Kelly Jr. (1913–1973) was an American animator and cartoonist best known for creating the comic strip Pogo, featuring anthropomorphic swamp animals engaged in political satire and philosophical commentary. He began his career at Walt Disney Productions, contributing to films like Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Dumbo, before moving to Dell Comics where Pogo debuted. Kelly's work combined sophisticated humor, whimsy, and pointed political observations until his death from diabetes complications.
