Thomas John Brokaw is an American author and retired television journalist best known for anchoring NBC Nightly News from 1982 to 2004.[1][2] Born in Webster, South Dakota, he began his career in radio and local television before joining NBC in 1966, covering major events like Watergate, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and writing bestsellers such as The Greatest Generation.[2][3][4]
