W. W. Jacobs

William Wymark Jacobs (1863-1943) was an English author of short fiction and drama, best known for his classic horror story 'The Monkey's Paw' (1902). Although much of his work was humorous and featured nautical themes, he is primarily remembered for his macabre tales of the supernatural, which are characterized by economical style, clever dialogue, and strong plot development.
