VIZ Media LLC is an American manga publisher, anime distributor, and entertainment company founded in 1986 by Seiji Horibuchi in San Francisco, California. It became the largest publisher of graphic novels and comic books in the United States by 2017, with a 23% market share, and is jointly owned by Japanese publishers Shueisha, Shogakukan, and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions following a 2005 merger. The company is renowned for popular titles like Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball, and operates the digital platform Weekly Shonen Jump.
