Virginia McKenna
Dame Virginia McKenna is a British stage and screen actress, author, and prominent animal rights activist best known for films like Born Free (1966), A Town Like Alice (1956), and Carve Her Name with Pride (1958).[1][2] She co-founded the Born Free Foundation with her late husband Bill Travers after their role in Born Free inspired lifelong wildlife conservation efforts.[5][6] McKenna has received numerous accolades, including BAFTA Awards, a Laurence Olivier Award, and an OBE in 2004 for services to wildlife and the arts.[1][2][5]
