Violet Barbour
Violet Barbour (1884–1968) was an American historian who specialized in English and European history, particularly the seventeenth century. She earned degrees from Cornell University and taught at Vassar College beginning in 1914, where she became a professor of English and European history. She received the Herbert Baxter Prize from the American Historical Association in 1913 and a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1925.
