Viktor E Frankl

Viktor Emil Frankl (1905–1997) was an Austrian neurologist, psychiatrist, philosopher, and Holocaust survivor who founded logotherapy, a psychotherapy approach emphasizing the search for meaning in life as the primary human drive. Prior to World War II, he worked at psychiatric hospitals in Vienna and treated thousands of patients, later heading the neurology department at Rothschild Hospital under Nazi restrictions. Imprisoned in concentration camps including Auschwitz, he survived and wrote his seminal book Man's Search for Meaning, drawing from his experiences to illustrate resilience through purpose.
