Vera Bacskai
Vera Bácskai (1930-2018) was a Hungarian historian and university professor specializing in urban history, particularly the history of Budapest and small towns in Eastern Central Europe. In her youth, she was involved in the Sándor Petőfi Circle during the 1950s, faced political repression including exile, but later became a prominent academic, serving as President of the European Association for Urban History in 1996.[1][2]
