Vanessa Diffenbaugh

Vanessa Diffenbaugh, born in 1978 in San Francisco, California, is an American author known for her debut novel *The Language of Flowers*, a New York Times bestseller translated into over 40 languages, and her nonfiction *A Victorian Flower Dictionary*. She studied creative writing and education at Stanford University and has worked teaching art and writing to youth in low-income communities. An advocate for foster care youth, she co-founded the Camellia Network and lives in California with her husband PK Diffenbaugh and their four sons.
