Valerie June Hockett
Valerie June Hockett is a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, poet, author, and certified yoga and mindfulness meditation instructor from Tennessee.[1][3] She has released multiple critically acclaimed albums, written songs for artists like Mavis Staples and The Blind Boys of Alabama, and authored books including the poetry collection Maps for the Modern World and the children's book Somebody to Love.[3][5] Hailed by the New York Times as one of America’s most intriguing new talents, she splits her time between Tennessee and New York when not touring.[1][3]
