United States Dept of the Interior
The United States Department of the Interior (DOI) is a cabinet-level executive department of the U.S. federal government, established on March 3, 1849, to manage the nation's internal affairs, including federally owned lands and natural resources.[1][2] It oversees agencies such as the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Geological Survey, with responsibilities encompassing conservation, American Indian affairs, and territorial management.[2][5] Headed by the Secretary of the Interior, currently Doug Burgum since February 1, 2025, the DOI protects cultural heritage and supplies energy resources.[1][3]
