United States Bureau of the Census
The United States Bureau of the Census, now known as the United States Census Bureau, is a federal statistical agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce responsible for collecting and producing data about the American population and economy. Established as a permanent bureau in 1902, it conducts the decennial census and a range of surveys used for representation, funding allocation, and public planning.
