U S Department of Energy
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is a cabinet-level executive department of the United States federal government, established by the Department of Energy Organization Act of 1977 and activated on October 1, 1977. It was created in response to the 1970s energy crises to unify federal energy-related programs, including energy policy, research and development, nuclear weapons stewardship, and environmental management. The DOE promotes energy efficiency, renewable energy, and national security through science and technology.
