Trevor Hastie

Trevor John Hastie, born in South Africa in 1953, is an American statistician renowned for his contributions to applied statistics, machine learning, statistical modeling, and bioinformatics. He earned his B.Sc. from Rhodes University (1976), M.Sc. from the University of Cape Town (1979), and Ph.D. from Stanford (1984), worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories before joining Stanford University in 1994, where he serves as the John A. Overdeck Professor of Statistics.[1][3][4][6]
