Tony Abbott

Anthony John 'Tony' Abbott is an Australian former politician who served as the 28th Prime Minister of Australia from 2013 to 2015 and leader of the Liberal Party from 2009 to 2015. Born in London, England, he migrated to Australia in 1960, studied at the University of Sydney and Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, and held various ministerial roles before entering parliament in 1994 for Warringah. His tenure as Prime Minister included repealing the carbon and mining taxes, halting people smuggling, and chairing the 2014 G20 summit, though it ended amid controversy and a leadership challenge by Malcolm Turnbull.
