Tom Rother

Thomas Rother was a German writer and sculptor, born as the son of a bookseller. After completing his Abitur at the Karl-Liebknecht-Gymnasium in Frankfurt (Oder), he moved from the GDR to West Germany in 1955, trained as a mason until 1958, and studied journalism, sociology, and German studies at the University of Münster from 1959 to 1961. From 1981, he gained recognition as a visual artist with sculptures in wood, stone, and steel, installations, and graphic works, participating in sculpture symposia worldwide including in Düsseldorf, Tokyo, Paris, and London.[3]
