Timothy J. Newby

Timothy Michael Newby (born May 29, 1974) is an American writer, educator, and historian known for his works on music and baseball. He authored *Bluegrass in Baltimore* (2015), *Leftover Salmon: Thirty Years of Festival!* (2019), and a biography of baseball legend Pete Browning published in 2024 by the University Press of Kentucky. His writing has appeared in publications like Bluegrass Unlimited, Paste, Relix, and AmericanaUK, and he has been called 'one of Baltimore's most beloved historians.'
